Yeah, after they take on a new kid and he decides to kill them one by one (and gets pretty close a few times)

So after a bit of time not posting, I'm on book 40 now (well into the ghostwritten books).  I've pretty much gotten past most of the tumblr rundown of the series with some other goofy stuff in no particular order
  • Ax (the alien) has 3 possessions on Earth.  One is a TV and the other is a picture of a "delicious cinammon bun"
  • A buffalo gets morphing powers and both messes up and then saves the animorphs
  • Ax invents TiVo
  • Cassie has to do brain surgery on Ax to save him from the flu
  • "McDonalds was destroyed"

Also getting deeper into the live action show and the budget keeps fluctuating.  The Yeerk laser guns are very obviously flashlights with crosshairs on them.

oh as a fan at the time, I admitted to myself that the show was shit quite early

and what did you mean by ghostwritten books?

I also remember in the back of one of the books, there some other preview for another Applegate novel that involved magic crystals in a Yugioh sort of card game where  you put magic into creature cards to fuse into a single being after so many rounds, but that may have just been a one-time scene

After book 25, Applegate started focusing on Everworld and handed off ideas for most of the rest of the series to other writers, the books were still credited to Applegate though

Forgot to mention that I finished reading the series over the break (I didn't read Alternamorphs because I don't want to do a Choose your own adventure on kindle).

Check out these taco bell toys tho: http://animorphs.wikia.com/wiki/Animorphs_Fast_Food_Merchandise
