First time DnU listeners suggested games.
« on: July 08, 2016, 02:13:43 PM »
I'm looking to put together a list of good games for first time dnu listeners to try before they tackle large games like Frieda's. Campaigns are fine, but I'd prefer one shots if possible.

Would def recommend the eclipse phase campaign because of the cohesive, tight story (plus relatively short). the only downside is the mechanics/ world building can be tough to parse sometimes.

"Devil's Bazaar" and "Traveling Bazaar"? Both really fun Monsters& games.

The two Coyote Cops Delta Green games (Puppet Shows and Shadow Plays & Disciples of the Worm), and two Mt. Pleasant Little Fears Games (A Nightmare in Mount Pleasant & Monster Masque) were some of my first episodes and did well to introduce me to the system. Any of the Fiasco games are also good.

If there's one thing I recommend to everyone myself, it's Robert Hodgins Must Die and pretty much anything in Fiasco

Robert Hodgins Must Die

I still relisten to that game every so often for a good laugh. Definitely the best thing we ever recorded.

Man, I do not remember that game very well.  I was more than a little impaired.  I mostly remember confusing "Union" as Union versus Confederates and union leaders as opposed to factory workers constantly.  But apparently everyone wanted to kill me, so...

As a longish time listener (2-3 years or so by now? I think that counts?) and first time poster, I'm going over what I've got downloaded right now. Engine Heart - 1 Shot: People Day is one of the funniest 1 Shots I've listened to that hasn't been mentioned yet. I've gotta recommend Robert Hodgins Must Die as well though.

Definitely Journey to the West. It's my go-to game when I just want to be happy.
