Alright I was able to install everything requested except for AutoMerge Double Posts and Auto Link Checker. Those failed a bunch of tests and I'm gonna have to look into manually installing them or something if I want to get them in.

« on: June 26, 2016, 02:51:32 AM »I've got no problems with recording, however if you're looking for software for recording, Apowersoft's Audio Recorder's pretty good for mixing external and internal channels into a single track.
That said, if you want editing done you can toss it my way - I've been video/audio editing for a while now and I'll have a decent bit of downtime after the recording.
We're using hangouts on air to record the podcast now and it seems to be pretty reliable instead of or in addition to a tape syncing process. You just need to verify a youtube account to record and it gets saved directly to your youtube channel.

It's not that it deleted posts. Site5 migrated our entire site (the forums and the podcast and everything else) to a new server and they used a copy from like last Tuesday or Wednesday so it was probably before you signed up. This is the first time I've noticed them do this in the 6 or so years we've been here so I'm not expecting it to be a regular occurence.

Okay, I just talked to site5 support. The site was migrated over to a new server and they didn't resync the data before going live. I'll see if I can get the data restored.

Yeah for some reason the whole site reset a few days. It happened to the podcast site and the Community Site got reset too. Weirdest thing.

« on: June 22, 2016, 12:28:01 AM »I keep meaning to finish up the freeform setting I was working on. If anyone is interested in a sci-fi freeform RP, I can see about requesting some sub-boards from Matt.
That said, I am always interesting in text RP. Maybe not a game, mind, but freeform RP is always a good time.
Just let me know what you need and I'll make it happen in a timely fashion.
Same applies to others who want some subboards for their thing.

Announcements / The Drunk and Ugly Community AP Site is Live!

Hey everybody! It took a while but I finally set up a proper Wordpress for the Community Actual Play: http://community.drunkandugly.com/
I've gone to the effort of archiving most of the things presently posted in the Community AP thread to this site. If you want to post community AP recordings, just PM me with your email address and preferred username and I'll set up an author account for you. If you have posts that have been migrated to the community site, I will update them so that your account is the author.
We cannot presently host media files for you (we have enough stuff on our server right now that our host is getting kind of mad at us), but over the past couple years people have hosted content on Dropbox and Archive.org. In my archiving of the older community posts I found that any site that allows for direct linking can be used with powerpress.
This message is repeated in the community AP boards with some basic instructions on posting but I figured I would also put an announcement here to make it more visible.

- In the sidebar, go to Posts > Add New
- Fill out the title and body of the post
- In the "Podcast Episode" portion below the body, paste in a direct link to the mp3 file you are serving (from Dropbox or Archive.org or wherever you host). This needs to go directly to the file you are linking or it will show up weird on the site
- Fill out Category and Tag information (please limit categories and tags to the most relevant things) in the boxes on the right side
- Set up your publishing options (aka whether you want to publish immediately or schedule)
- That's it! You're set up!
