Well, for Blastmaster in particular, I believe I mentioned at one point that he was created in the moment between when they opened the door out of Peaceful Acres and when they walked through it. But what I eventually ended up figuring was he was a mercenary that stumbled onto one of the abandoned national guard armories full of explosives (and at least one bomb squad suit), and devoted a year or so to using the demolitionist training manuals there to use them safely, eventually moving on to missile ordnance guides and pyrotechnics training books from a Florida fireworks factory. Some corporation had to keep Kismet Park alight at night, after all. And eventually, in his self imposed exile, his mercenary corps moved on and left him to become his own force.

This went a little off the rails when I wasn't looking.

It's interesting, yeah, but kind of makes sense. Eisen switched away from the Dracheneisen character hook and into full Vanhelsing.exe, and got a new trickbag with it. Meanwhile, in 1st ed, Castillian magic was, in flavor, almost extinct due to the Rilasciare and its restriction to royal blood. Which of course, due to the Benevolent Drow principle, meant every other party had a Castillian sorcerer, but still in flavor it makes sense.

I think it works nicely. The civil war (and I'm opening myself up here for some very legitimate criticism here, given the 7th sea eps that have been going up) was interesting, but very difficult to GM. Plus, I think it's better for animosity between the vendel and vesten to be a character choice rather than a default cultural identity. Beyond that, I'm all about the adding of a new nation in the form of the Sarmatian Commonwealth, and I dig that they've made being a glamour mage have a great deal more flavor significance than just being some random englishman who acts like a folk hero.

Jokes on him, the gap between those two things is way bigger than he thinks.

Oh, right. Yeah, I'm James. Syn was my nickname on the cast page for a long time, until Matt changed it to The Notorious P.U.G. because he's Matt. And as for Nate, Amanda and Zach, a disagreement in our ranks led to them making the decision to move on from the podcast. That said, they are still very good friends, we all still talk, and we love them very much.

Nah dude, thank YOU. It's reading posts like this that keep us going on this whole podcast thing, and I'm so glad you enjoy what we do (And actually it's kind of impressive that you've been through Rogue Trader so many times. I've only been through it the one time myself). As always, feel free to ask any questions you might have about the campaigns, and we may or may not answer them based on whether the info is top secret or not. As far as Edge though, I don't think it's saying too much to say we have more recorded than is up on the website.

Not really. Outside of the main countries and the little ones they threw in later, everything is pretty cut off by unfavorable seas.
