Step 1. Take this link. Open the links in separate tabs because it can reset your plot setup
Step 2. Make a plot out of it, and then a premise for an rpg game or campaign

Step 3.
Normal Mode: post your idea here
Hard Mode: run that shit
Impossible Mode: post the results here

so mine I'm still hoping to run some day:

Setting:
Standard Sci Fi History

Plot:
Bathe Her And Bring Her To Me

Narrative Device:
Survivalist Stash

Hero:
Homeless Hero

Villain:
intelligence

Character As Device:
The Pornomancer

Characterization Device:
Immortals Fear Death

So players are a unit of immortal, unbreakable, self-repairing robot minions under the service of the Skeletor-esque robot emperor, Lord Romcom. The players are activated for the first time and ordered to go fetch Romcom  a princess to legitimize his tyranny, all while avoiding the charming antihero whose ancient robot-punching technique (salvaged from some ancient bunker) can actually slay the party.

Setting: One Degree Of Separation

Plot: Hourglass Plot

Narrative Device: Homage

Hero: Prodigal Hero

Villain: Better The Devil You Know

Character As Device: Useless Protagonist

Characterization Device: Gratitude Tropes

Freakishly enough, this would kinda gel with an AW hack I'm kicking around based around shady conspiracies.

The players are all normal, pretty boring people, living out their lives in the same area, until something, some huge act of chaos/terror/tragedy changes all their lives forever. They narrate what happened and why they were powerless to do anything to stop it.

A year passes.

One by one, the players find their way to a support site for survivors and affected persons of said tragedy. People are angry, confused, looking for someone to blame. Naturally, they want someone to blame. Someone to punish. Thus begins the plan.

The players then lay the groundwork for, and go on to execute, their revenge on whoever or whatever they feel was responsible for the tragedy that affected them all. Unfortunately, this skirts the lines of domestic terrorism, pushing the players ever closer to the brink of becoming the antagonists of the piece.

The endgame, such as it would be, would be looking back over the plot and gauging whether or not the cast are seen as vigilantes, heroes or criminals, depending on what they do to get justice.

Would probably draw some themes from Person Of Interest, Mr. Robot, etc, for that nice cyber-paranoia tone.

I would totally run the crap out of this.

Sure. I'll bite. I'll record something and post it soon, along with the notes from the random generator. Wouldn't want to spoil the plot for anyone I get to participate. I may have had to reroll twice in order to actually get something that could be contained in one session; the first two times I got the Academy of Adventure (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AcademyOfAdventure) and World Tour (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WorldTour) settings, neither of which are conducive to a one-off. They'd have been fun (basically Road Trip and Curriculum of Conspiracy), to be sure, but impossible to contain in a single session.

yea, I think when I first tried it out, we houseruled it to be two rerolls allowed, but you're fucked if your third is shit too

Fortunately, my third wasn't garbage. I had to think long and hard to make some of the tropes actually work in a game, but it should altogether be a fun game. I'm probably going to run it this week sometime and post a link this weekend.

I am so glad you're keeping my dream alive Greg. I'll do one when not my phone.

I still mean to run it too, someday. I think I had another, more half-baked one laying around about David Bowie and fraud heroes

Setting: The Shangri La

Plot: The Magic Goes Away

Narrative Device: It Was A Gift

Hero: Barbarian Hero

Villain: Terrible Trio

Character as Device: Not In Front Of The Kid

Characterization Device: Adaptation Personality Change

I actually have a somewhat coherent idea.

In ancient times, in the magical city of Shangri La, the tribal people of the land talk about a great war that happened a generation ago. Now, the final scars of the war are seen, and it turns out the great evil has tainted the source of magic for the city, and soon magic will be leaving the world. There is one way to stop it, though.

Our protagonists are given the great task of taking a young child, the only person who can cleanse the source and protect the magic of the land. They must escort her to the true heroes, the protagonists the great epics from the war. Unfortunately, things don't quite measure up. These old heroes are greedy sociopaths, who adventured for fame and fortune. They have grown fat and lazy, and are far from heroic. Will our escorts rise up and become the new heroes? Or will the world fall apart and slip between their finger?
